Malo Le Masson, head of strategy and M&A, is leaving Hero MotoCorp.

 

Malo Le Masson, head of strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and global product planning at two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp, announced his resignation on Friday. Malo Le Masson has chosen to pursue opportunities outside the firm.

According to a regulatory filing from Hero MotoCorp, Chief Financial Officer Niranjan Gupta has since been given the additional responsibility of leading strategy, mergers, and acquisitions for the company, while Executive Director Vikram Kasbekar has been given the responsibility to lead the crucial function of global product planning as an interim charge.

Le Masson has been employed by Hero MotoCorp for more than six years and will remain there through the end of December 2022.

For the previous six years, Gupta served as CFO. According to the filing, he also serves as a director on the boards of a number of associate businesses, including Ather Energy, a business partner in the electric vehicle industry, HMCMM Auto Pvt Ltd, a joint venture for fuel injection systems, and HMCL Colombia, a branch of HMCL for its international operations.

According to the business, Kasbekar also serves on the boards of HMCMM Auto Pvt Ltd and HNBL, Bangladesh. "Both of them have an impeccable track record of delivering outstanding business results in a highly competitive environment, and their immense experience and expertise will surely contribute towards the company's performance," said Mike Clarke, chief operating officer and human resources officer of Hero MotoCorp.

Le Masson, he continued, "is leaving his footprint in our future line-up, as the firm prepares to debut a variety of new scooters and motorbikes over the next 12 to 18 months." Le Masson, he added, "has been essential in broadening the company's product portfolio and evolving this function."

Le Masson has extensive experience in product planning from his stints with Nissan Motor Co. across geographies, including Japan, France, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Prior to joining Hero MotoCorp, he was overseeing the product strategy function at Infiniti Motor Company, where he worked as Global Head of Infiniti Product Long Term Strategy.
