In November, domestic passenger traffic increased by 2.4% monthly and 11% year over year.

 


According to figures issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on December 19, domestic aviation traffic in India increased 11% year over year to 116.79 lakh passengers in November.

In comparison to October, when 114.07 lakh passengers took to the skies, more people flew in November.

However, plane traffic was remained below pre-COVID levels. Domestic airlines carried 129.47 lakh passengers in November 2019.

Domestic airlines handled 1,105.10 lakh passengers from January to November 2022, up from 726.11 lakh over the same period the previous year, a growth of 52% annually, according to the civil aviation agency.
